Music Festivals in Pembrokeshire 2018

Festivals in Pembrokeshire 2018

Do you love music? If you do then Pembrokeshire is the place to be in 2018. Each year Pembrokeshire puts on several major music festivals throughout the county. Whether classical, folk, the blues or jazz there is something for all tastes.

1.Narberth A Cappella Voice Festival - May

The weekend of 4 – 6 May 2018 sees the return of the Narberth A Cappella Voice Festival. In what will be its 10th Anniversary year, this festival of unaccompanied music brings together a range of traditional and non-traditional performers from around the globe. During the festival, a packed schedule of performances and workshops will be on offer. Also, everyone has the chance to take part in a unique scratch choir where young and old can join in and sing.

2.Fishguard Folk Festival – May

The last weekend in May offers four days of folk songs, music and dance during a fun packed festival in the town of Fishguard. Many of the events are free. The Fishguard Folk Festival opens with a colourful ceremony in the town square and ends with a festive celebration of folk music. It doesn’t matter if you want to play, sing or dance or you just want to watch and listen, the festival offers something for everyone

3.St Davids Cathedral Festival - May/June

Since 1979, the St Davids Cathedral has been bringing classical music to West Wales. In 2018 the Cathedral will play host to the St Davids Cathedral Festival from 25 May to 3 June. On offer during the festival are a variety of classical and contemporary music concerts for you to experience and enjoy.

4.Fishguard International Music Festival – July/August

During the summer months, the town of Fishguard plays host to the Fishguard International Music Festival. It is a celebration of classical music. First started in 1969, it is probably the oldest established music festival in Wales. Audiences will have the chance to enjoy a series of mostly classical music events from some of the best musical talents from Wales, the UK and internationally.

5.Fishguard Jazz & Blues Festival - August

The August Bank Holiday sees Fishguard come alive to the sound of Jazz, Blues and everything in between. The Fishguard Jazz and Blues Festival brings a party atmosphere to the town and surrounding area. It offers you the chance to experience a range of jazz and Blues workshops. You’ll also be treated to great performances day and night from a wide range of artists.

6.Tenby Blues Festival – November

From the 16th – 18th November, Tenby plays host to the Tenby Blues Festival. This annual winter festival has been running since 2006. The seaside town of Tenby enjoys three days of great Blues music. As well as excellent live music, the festival also offers the Blues Trail. This free 2-day event will see performances taking place in the bars, clubs and restaurants of Tenby.
