Celtic Rock Music on iTunes
Celtic rock is a type of folk rock, and Celtic fusion encompasses Celtic music, instruments and themes that fit a rock music context. Since the early 1970s, this music genre has become very famous and widely accepted, which has led to the development of very successful Celtic bands and well-known musical performers. There have also been developments of other derivatives through further fusions. This has helped maintain and define regional and national identities in nurturing the pan-Celtic culture. The external audience has also been able to learn these cultures.
The Celtic rock is actually a hybrid of the traditional Scottish, Welsh, Irish, Gaelic and Breton forms of rock music. Musicians have been able to achieve it by playing the traditional music like jigs, ballads and reels using rock instrumentation by adding the traditional Celtic instruments like the tin whistle, Celtic harp, Irish Bagpipes, accordion and melodeon, among others. The use of lyrics that are in Celtic languages combined with traditional rhythms and cadences has been used in creating the Celtic rock.
This type of music also comes with other subgenres, including Celtic punk, Celtic metal and Diaspora Celtic punk.
